How can we help?

How liquid are my investments at CI Direct Investing?

All CI Direct Investing investments are liquid, and in most cases funds can be in your Canadian bank account in approximately 10 business days from when you make a withdrawal request.

Here is what happens when you request a withdrawal:

After we receive your instruction, CI Direct Investing will sell the holding in your account at the next reasonable opportunity. ETFs are traded daily and the Nicola Wealth funds trade weekly on Fridays. After the holding is sold we wait for the cash to reach your CI Direct Investing account which typically takes 2 business days. Once we confirm the cash is in your CI Direct Investing account (trade has settled) we instruct the custodian to send it back to your linked bank account which typically takes up to 5 business days.

If you are interested in investing in a different portfolio that may better suit your needs, please contact a CI Direct Investing Portfolio Manager who will be able to assess if the new portfolio is suitable for you. If the portfolio manager determines the change is suitable, your investments will be traded on the immediate following trade date for that portfolio.
